As a professional french polisher I discovered Naples Yellow over 30 years ago and has been key in my palette ever since. I know of nobody else in the trade who uses it so more fool them!

A creamy yellow, hard to see through and excellent for obliterating over dark spots when combined with Pink Litharge and Titanium white. Well now my secret is out! (Posted on 20/07/2019)

My favourite yellow, subtle and soft, and a pleasure to make and mix together, no trouble with the cold pressed Linseed oil, just practise getting the stiffer texture with the muller and drops of oil. You can really see the difference between ready made brand tubes and your own real paint. This is how the masters made their paint pre 1860-70s. (Posted on 12/03/2019)
