As a recent convert to making my own oil paint after years of using high quality factor made, it's a fascinating subject. The earth colours generally mix really easily with Cold Pressed Linseed oil you would be crazy to go on paying for ready made colours. Now the other colours such as Cobalt, are very worth while making. Some of them take a little more practise, mix well, if I put too much oil it can be a little too gloopy, But now I have refined my mixing and have made a nice 40ml tube. Cobalt blue is a super all round mid blue, not too strong, mixes very well into whites...a winner all round. (Posted on 12/03/2019)
