Since I am skeptical about the lightfastness of some organic pigments, I always prefer inorganic - metal based pigments. My favorite paint brands do not offer this as a ready to use paint, so there are no other options that mixing it.

This is the best Violet that I have found, very deep, mixes perfectly with cadmium red or cobalt blue. Semi transparent, lightfastness I (or BW 7-8). I use it in acrylic. Beware that cobalt is toxic so it is important to wear a full face respiratory mask (3M has excellent ones with industry-grade particle filters) and gloves, as well as perfectly clean the place after mixing.

Not cheap, but Violet cannot be cheap. (Posted on 10/05/2018)
