I have recently started experimenting with mixing my own oil paints powder pigments and walnut oil. This pigment makes a really smooth paste with little oil. It has a high saturation, just be careful as it can taint other parts of the piece if you smudge the work...

Another really useful way to use this is to mix a little up with some oil and put the paste onto a sharpening stone to help with blade sharpening. (Posted on 07/02/2018)
