This madder is just pure rose madder made from roots. It is not as intense as you find other madder pigments (this one is one of the cheapest to go for). If you are looking for the intense translucent pigments look at kremer as they have 6 shades. This one is transparent but granular, a light pinkish red colour and about 63 µ which is not a fine grind. (Posted on 15/05/2020)

Like the rose madder pigment, the production process is quite involved, hence the price. However, this one does not fluoresce and is a rather dull colour in comparison with the rose madder.

Again, it is fairly gritty but this grinds out to produce a smooth paint reasonably easily. (Posted on 10/09/2018)
