There was a video on youtube showing how to cut a quill, so I thought I'd have a go... it's not as easy as it looks, and I can't produce a nib that doesn't blob ink everywhere - but it does write! I think I need a sharper knife.
The pre-cut one on the other hand, once sharpened a little to suit my tiny handwriting, writes as well as any other dip pen, though it does squeak a bit.
I may be nearly 40, but I am not too old to enjoy pretending that I'm at Hogwarts while doing my OU work.
