YInMn Blue is a mixed oxide pigment discovered in 2009 by materials chemists at Oregon State University. The name is derived from the chemical symbols Y for Yttrium (an expensive rare earth), In for Indium (an extremely rare semi-metal) and Mn for Manganese.
YInMn-Blue is a unique, bright blue with a reddish hue lying between the greener ultramarine blue and dark cobalt blue. Lightfast, opaque with a moderate tinting strength.
