Length 160 mm. Hand-forged from silver bullion. This is a smaller, simplified version of the Artisan Stylus. The Artisan has two silver tips, the Garzone has just one the stylus body is brass. The Garzone brass tip is also useable for drawing on a prepared ground but is less permanent than the silver tip.
Silverpoint Stylus and Hand Prepared Silverpoint Ground are historically authentic Renaissance materials which would be recognisable to an artist of the quattrocento. Silverpoint drawing is drawing with a silver point which leaves a metallic trace on a pigmented ground. The Maestro, Artisan and Artista Silverpoint Styli are inspired by Jan Gossart's painting of Saint Luke drawing the Virgin from the early sixteenth century.
