A really lovely burnt sienna pigment. This one is very orange and fiery compared to the ones I have which are more brownish (they are all PR 101.7) so finding a PBR43 was really good. Very smooth, no bigger particles and mixes very well. (Posted on 15/05/2020)

All the earth colours are so easy to make. For years I've bought ready made tubes, but now that brands are asserting their high pigment quality, why not go back to how the great painters pre 1870, made their paints, mainly by hand with a muller? You know then you're getting a pure product at vastly reduced costs. And this burnt sienna is one of a handful of earths that is so easy to make, it binds very easily with the cold pressed linseed oil. (Posted on 12/03/2019)
